Methodology

How the Bonvo Score works

Rankings you can verify — every number on this site is computed from open, elevation-aware map geometry, the same data that powers the 3D maps in the app.

Terrain (0–30)

Total mapped piste kilometres, log-scaled so a 300 km giant maxes out and a charming 40 km hill still scores fairly.

Vertical (0–25)

True top-to-bottom vertical drop measured from elevation data — 2,000 m earns full marks.

Lift network (0–25)

Hourly uplift capacity plus network size, so both speed and coverage count.

Variety (0–20)

How evenly terrain spreads across difficulty levels, plus night skiing, snowparks, tree runs and cross-country trails.

Each resort page also scores individual slopes 0–10 from measured length, vertical and sustained gradient. Terrain data is derived from OpenStreetMap and OpenSkiMap contributions and refreshed with the app’s map dataset — spotted an error? Tell us.

All of it in your pocket, even offline

Every resort in this directory renders as a full interactive 3D map in the free Bonvo Ski app — and keeps working in airplane mode on the mountain.
