Day 269 of 365

Your Pre-Season Recap — Everything You've Prepped Since Day 181

Tomorrow we hit a milestone, so today let us take stock. If you have followed along since Day 181, you have quietly built a complete pre-season foundation. Pull it all together and you will see just how ready you actually are.

What You've Built

  • Fitness. A summer and autumn of leg strength, core stability, and cardio, peaked in the final six weeks before the season.
  • Gear. Decisions made on rent versus buy, a board and bindings sorted, and a layering system ready for November cold.
  • Knowledge. An understanding of snow conditions, forecasts, the snow line, and what early-season glacier riding really involves.
  • A trip plan. Glaciers scoped, open terrain checked, and a route mapped for your first early-season outing.

The Pieces That Tie It Together

  1. Mindset. You know day one is about enjoying movement, not perfection, and that falling is just learning.
  2. A nerve plan. You have a calm, repeatable routine for that first nervous morning.
  3. The right resort. You know which autumn glaciers suit a novice and why.

One Last Check

Run through it honestly. If any piece feels shaky — fitness, gear, or planning — you still have time to firm it up before the main season. Pre-season preparation is exactly what stops day one from being overwhelming.

The final piece is the easy one. Keep Bonvo on your phone, with your chosen glacier loaded and your easy runs picked out in 3D. Everything you have prepared since Day 181 comes together the moment you click into your board — and you will be glad you did the work.
