The Final Fitness Peak — Your Last Six Weeks Before the Season

The main season is roughly six weeks away. Everything you have done since the summer comes together now, in a final fitness push that leaves you arriving on the snow strong, not stiff. This is not the time for heroics — it is the time to peak and protect.

What to Focus On

  • Legs and glutes. Squats, lunges, and wall sits build the endurance that survives a full day of riding.
  • Core stability. Planks and rotational work keep your balance solid when fatigue sets in.
  • Ankle and knee mobility. Snowboarding loads your joints in odd ways, so keep them supple to avoid early-season strains.
  • Cardio base. Altitude is tiring. A steady cardio habit means thin glacier air does not floor you.

A Sensible Six-Week Shape

  1. Weeks 6 to 4. Build hardest. Push strength and cardio while you still have recovery time.
  2. Weeks 3 to 2. Hold steady. Maintain the work without adding new strain.
  3. Final week. Taper. Lighter sessions, good sleep, and mobility only. Arrive fresh, not sore.

Do Not Overdo It

The biggest mistake now is cramming. A last-minute injury costs you the whole trip. If something twinges, back off. Consistency beat intensity all summer, and it still does in the final stretch.

When you are riding, Bonvo's run recording shows you how your fitness translates on snow — distance, descents, and time on the board. It is a satisfying way to see all those autumn workouts paying off once the season finally begins.
