Val Gardena — Gateway to the Sellaronda Circuit in the Dolomites

Val Gardena is one of those places that makes you fall in love with skiing all over again. Nestled in the heart of the Dolomites in South Tyrol, Italy, it is the gateway to the legendary Sellaronda — a circular ski route around the massive Sella mountain group that is unlike anything else in the Alps.

The Sellaronda Loop

The Sellaronda connects four Dolomite valleys — Val Gardena, Alta Badia, Arabba, and Val di Fassa — in a loop that can be skied in either direction in a single day. The clockwise "orange" route and counter-clockwise "green" route each take roughly 5-6 hours with breaks. On the 3D map in Bonvo.Ski, you can trace the entire circuit and see how the massive Sella massif sits in the centre with valleys radiating outward.

Saslong — The World Cup Downhill

Val Gardena is also home to the Saslong World Cup downhill course, one of the most iconic race tracks in alpine skiing. Search for it in the app using Slope Search and explore its profile — the Ciaslat wall section and the Camel Humps are visible in the 3D terrain, giving you a real sense of what the racers face at 140 km/h.

Why Val Gardena Stands Out

  • 175 km of slopes within Val Gardena alone
  • Sellaronda access — the most famous ski circuit in the world
  • Dolomite scenery — UNESCO World Heritage landscapes at every turn
  • Three villages — Selva, Santa Cristina, and Ortisei each offer a different character

Open Val Gardena in the app, rotate the map to face the Sella group, and start planning your Sellaronda day. The 3D terrain makes the Dolomite spires look as dramatic as they are in real life.
