Satellite vs Outdoor Map Styles — Which One Should You Use?
Bonvo.Ski offers two distinct map styles: Satellite and Outdoor. Each has its strengths depending on what you need to see on the mountain.
Outdoor Map Style
The Outdoor style uses clean, illustrated terrain with clear slope markings, ski lift lines, and labels. It is optimized for quick navigation and understanding the layout of the resort.
Best for:
- First-time visitors learning the resort layout
- Quickly identifying slopes by color-coded difficulty
- Reading slope names and lift labels at a glance
- Planning your route before heading out
Satellite Map Style
The Satellite style shows real aerial photography of the mountain. You see the actual snow conditions, forested areas, and terrain features exactly as they appear in real life.
Best for:
- Assessing snow cover and conditions
- Identifying off-piste areas and tree runs
- Understanding terrain features for backcountry
- Scouting powder stashes after a storm
How to Switch Styles
Tap the layers button in the bottom-right corner of the map, then select either "Satellite" or "Outdoor" from the menu. You can switch back and forth anytime.
Pro tip: Use Outdoor for navigation during the day, then switch to Satellite when scouting fresh lines.
