Recording Statistics Explained — Every Metric After Your Ski Run
After you record a ski run (see Day 5), the app processes your GPS data and breaks it down into detailed statistics. Let's explore every metric you get.
Top-Level Stats
At the top of the recording view, you see:
- Max Speed — your fastest moment during the run
- Duration — total time from start to stop
- Average Speed — your speed averaged over the entire recording
- Vertical Drop — total elevation change (descending)
- Runs Counter — how many downhill segments detected
- Distance — total distance traveled (downhill + lifts + walking)
Activity Breakdown
The app categorizes your time into three buckets:
- Skiing Time — time spent going downhill
- Lift Time — time spent on chairlifts or gondolas
- Resting Time — breaks, walking, standing still
This breakdown helps you see how efficiently you used your day. If you spent 3 hours on the mountain but only 45 minutes actually skiing, you know lift lines or breaks ate up your time.
Run Timeline
Below the stats, you see a timeline of every segment:
- Run 1 — 1.2 km, 5 min, 14 km/h avg
- Lift 1 — Gondola XYZ, 8 min
- Rest — 10 min
- Run 2 — 2.3 km, 8 min, 17 km/h avg
You can tap any segment to see it highlighted on the map.
Elevation Profile
A graph shows your elevation over time. You can see exactly where you climbed (lifts) and where you descended (runs).
Speed Over Time
Another graph shows your speed throughout the recording. See where you sped up, where you slowed down, and where you hit top speed.
