Load Saved Drawings on the Map — View Friend's Backcountry Intel
Yesterday we covered Drawing Mode and how to create custom maps. Today, let's talk about loading those drawings back onto the map — whether you created them or received them from a friend.
How to Load a Drawing
- Open Bonvo.Ski and select the correct resort
- Tap the drawings button in the top-right action cluster
- Select "Load Drawing"
- Choose a saved drawing from your list or import a shared file
The drawing overlays on the map. All markers, lines, and polygons appear exactly as they were saved.
Interacting with Loaded Drawings
Once a drawing is loaded, you can:
- Tap markers to see any notes or labels attached
- View polygons that outline specific zones (avalanche areas, powder fields, etc.)
- Follow traced routes to navigate the terrain
Sharing Drawings with Friends
Drawings are stored as files on your device. To share one:
- Save the drawing in Drawing Mode
- Export the file via AirDrop, WhatsApp, email, or any file-sharing method
- Your friend imports the file and loads it in their app
This is a game-changer for backcountry groups. The guide scouts and marks the route, then everyone follows the same map with shared knowledge of hazards and safe zones.
