Share Your Live Location — Let the Group Know Where You Are
Yesterday we covered creating a group. Today, let's talk about the most powerful group feature: live location sharing.
How to Enable Live Location Sharing
- Join a group (or create one)
- Open the group from the Groups tab
- Tap "Share My Location"
- Your live position appears on the map for all group members
As you move around the mountain, your marker updates in real-time. Your friends can see exactly where you are, which slope you are on, and whether you are moving or stopped.
When to Use Live Location Sharing
- Coordinating meet-ups — "I'm at the top of Lift 5"
- Keeping track of kids — parents can see where children are skiing
- Safety in backcountry — if someone gets in trouble, you know where they are
- Large groups — ski schools or corporate trips with many people
Privacy Controls
You control when your location is shared:
- Tap "Stop Sharing" anytime to go private
- Location only shared with group members — not public
- Works only when the app is open — no background tracking
This is not a surveillance tool. It is a coordination tool. You decide when to share, and you can stop anytime.
