Building Your Complete Pre-Season Checklist
The week before a trip is when small forgotten details cause big headaches. A single master checklist, covering gear, fitness, and bookings, turns that chaos into a calm tick-box exercise. Here is how to build one you will actually use.
Gear Checklist
- Board, bindings, and boots tuned, waxed, and fitted.
- Layers including base layers, mid-layers, jacket, and trousers.
- Protection such as helmet, goggles, gloves, and wrist guards.
- Small essentials like sunscreen, lip balm, hand warmers, and a small backpack.
Fitness and Body Checklist
- Keep moving right up to the trip with light strength and balance work.
- Taper, do not exhaust. Ease off hard training a few days before you fly.
- Sort any niggles. See a physio for lingering aches well before you travel.
Booking and Admin Checklist
- Confirm travel. Flights, transfers, or driving route and parking.
- Confirm accommodation. Check-in times and location relative to the slopes.
- Book lessons early. Beginner group lessons fill up fast.
- Arrange rentals if you are not bringing your own kit.
- Sort lift passes and insurance. More on both in the coming posts.
- Check documents. Passport validity, any visas, and travel cards.
Make It One List
