The My Location Button — Your Anchor Point on Any Mountain
Getting disoriented on a ski resort is easier than you think. After a few runs, multiple lift rides, and navigating through tree zones, you can lose track of where you are. That is where the My Location button becomes essential.
What It Does
The My Location button is a simple blue dot icon in the bottom-right action cluster. Tap it once, and the map instantly centers on your current GPS position. A blue marker appears showing exactly where you are on the mountain.
When to Use It
- After exiting a long lift — Orient yourself at the top of the mountain
- At slope intersections — Figure out which direction to go
- When visibility is low — Confirm your position in fog or heavy snow
- In unfamiliar terrain — Quickly see what slopes are around you
Pro Tip: Double-Tap for Ultra Live Heading
If you double-tap the My Location button, you activate Ultra Live Heading mode (we will cover this in detail on Day 15). This locks the map to your position and rotates it based on your compass heading — incredibly useful for complex navigation.
The My Location button is simple, but it is one of the most-used features in the app. Make it a habit to tap it whenever you need to reorient yourself.
