Day 200 — 200 Days In, 165 to Go: The Off-Season Halftime Report
Day 200. Two hundred daily posts, not one skipped. We started this blog in deep winter with ski-first content, and somewhere around Day 91 we made a deliberate turn toward the people who needed us most: first-time snowboarders. Today, in the quiet heat of late August, feels like the right moment to look back and look ahead.
How Far We Have Come
- 200 posts published. A streak that started as an experiment and became a habit.
- The novice pivot held. Gear, technique, travel, accommodation, and now fitness, all aimed squarely at the nervous beginner.
- A fitness focus for late summer. The last stretch of posts has been a structured pre-season ramp-up, because the work you do now decides how much fun you have later.
Why the Off-Season Matters
It is tempting to think snowboarding only happens when there is snow. But the riders who improve fastest are the ones who treat August and September as training months. Balance, strength, and flexibility built now turn into confidence and smoother turns the moment the lifts open. Halftime is not a break, it is preparation.
What Is Coming in the Back Half
- The rest of the fitness ramp. Knee health, wrist strength, nutrition, and cross-training are all on the way.
- Autumn gear shopping. As the new season's boards and boots land, we will help you choose your first kit.
- Pre-season trips. Early-snow glaciers and opening weekends, and how a first-timer should approach them.
165 days to go. The hardest part of any streak is the middle, and we are standing right in it, still going. Thank you for reading along. Tomorrow we get back to work with knee health and injury prevention. As always, Bonvo.Ski will be there when the snow returns, ready to map every run you take.
