End-of-Season Sales — When to Buy Snowboard Gear for Less
The cheapest week of the year to buy snowboard gear is right now. Shops are clearing winter inventory to make room for summer stock, and the discounts are real.
The Discount Calendar
- Mid-March to mid-April — Resort shops begin discounting. 20–30% off as they close stations.
- Late April to mid-May — City shops cut deeper. 30–50% off. Best selection still available.
- June to August — Brand outlets and online stores. 50–70% off last season's models. Sizes get picked over fast.
- September — New season inventory arrives. Old stock either sells out or goes back to clearance warehouses.
What to Buy Now
- Last season's snowboard — Brands change graphics yearly, not technology. A 2026 model in May 2026 is identical to the 2027 model in October.
- Hardgoods (boots, bindings) — Same logic. Boots especially — last season's fit is still your fit.
- Outerwear — Jackets, pants, bibs see the biggest discounts since colours rotate hard.
What to Wait On
Goggles and helmets sell down to small sizes only by June. If you have a medium or large head, you might be better off waiting for September stock.
If you committed to learning to ride next winter, this is your buying window. Don't pay October retail for May inventory.
